Modern IT management requires a sound knowledge regarding the use of IT systems and the implementation of IT architectures. Furthermore, it is taken for granted that IT has a sufficient understanding of the core business of enterprises (Business-IT-Alignment). Since IT services are increasingly produced in closely linked partner networks, challenges on interdisciplinary management knowhow are rising: IT managers have to control their budgets and are responsible for complex legal arrangements with IT service providers.

Learning objectives

Students work out a wide range of subjects related to the interface between banking and IT management. The banking industry serves as an example, however, the basic principles may also apply to other sectors.
